Hanging Vines Lace - Scarf, Stole or Sofa Throw

HeartStrings knitting pattern #A26

The lovely Hanging Vines design easily adapts to the width you fancy -- from narrow neck scarf, to lace stole, and even wider shawl and sofa throw styles.

Widths from 10" to 52", lengths from 60" to 72". Laceweight or fingering weight yarn, 350 yards (smallest) to 1800 yards ((largest). 4½ stitches/inch, size US 6 / 4.0 mm needles suggested. Sizing and yardage guidelines for all versions are detailed in the instructions. Both charted and written instructions.

The wider scarf or stole version above was knitted with laceweight silk handspun from hand-painted roving.

Here is a photo of Hanging Vines Lace in the sofa throw version, knitted in a yarn of handspun wool plied with silk.

Jody Pirrello writes ...

"I just wanted to share with you that I recently finished a hanging vines scarf. It's lovely! I used Schaefer Anne and I did the wider scarf version (2 center repeats). If you're interested in seeing the finished scarf I've put up a photo on my blog.
The pattern was perfect and a pleasure to knit up. I will definitely be making more Heartstrings patterns in the future!
This is the third pattern I've used from Heartstrings and all have been great. All 3 were error-free and that's a feat in of itself! I love how you shared what the extra yardage would be to add another repeat. It gave me the freedom to customize the project to my liking."
