A Beaded Bias Towards Lace Scarf
HeartStrings knitting pattern #A60
The simplest of lace patterns knits naturally on the bias to make a scarf with chic diagonal ends. The bias design is a striking use of hand-painted yarn. Optionally trim your scarf with a simple crochet beaded edge.

Blueberry Hill is one of my favorite colors that Margaret Pittman of Heritage Yarns dyes (but then, I love almost ALL of the color palettes she dyes!). This version of A Beaded Bias Towards Lace Scarf demonstrates using a highly textured yarn for knitting the scarf. Thus, for the beaded edging, I used a supplemental yarn/thread of black silk to crochet the beads onto the edge of the scarf (since the textured yarn cannot be pulled through the beads). I think the black is a nice backdrop to the metallic of the beads without detracting from the nice color of the yarn in the main portion of the scarf. What do you think? You can also see more pictures for this project on Ravelry.
