Soft Cables Moebius Scarf
HeartStrings knitting pattern #A78
Here is a great project that knits up quickly and makes a great gift, too. This moebius scarf is a continuous one-sided surface that is formed from a rectangular piece of knitting. It is simply a loop with a half twist that will rest comfortably folded about your head or neck. The reversible eyelet cable-look stitch pattern gives a soft contour. Best of all, you can use different weights of yarn and make to any size without a lot of pre-planning.

Two options are given for joining: step-by-step grafting in pattern to produce an entirely invisible seam, or an easier 3-needle bind off method that would also be preferred if you use a heavily textured yarns such a boucle.

As a rule of thumb, plan for 3 - 50g balls in sport to bulky weights, 2 - 50g balls in finer weights. More specific yardage and gauge guidelines for popular yarn weights and scarf sizes are included in the pattern instructions or you can preview the cover page below. Shown here in Tahki Sable 70% merino/30% angora yarn. Written stitch instructions.

Lisa Keating writes ...
I recently purchased the Soft Cables Möbius pattern. I just wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying this project. The pattern is one of the best values for my money I have seen in a long time. I love that I can use different weights of yarn. It is very well written, clear and concise. I am using Noro Cash Iroha. It is a beautiful project. THANKS!
Of course, comments like this truly make my day and encourage me to continue doing the best I can in developing knitting patterns to delight and inspire your heart-felt creations. I appreciate Lisa (and so many others of you) in taking the time to write.

Lisa also mentioned that she had been inspired by the Soft Cables Möbius scarf that Wendy Johnson made and shared pictures of on her
Wendy Knits blog.
