Lacy Riverine Ensemble
HeartStrings knitting pattern #A89
An elegant coordinating set of reversible lace scarf, headband, and mitts or muffatees to keep neck, head, hands and arms warm on cool days. The undulating lacy design is reminiscent of a softly flowing river on quiet afternoons. With just two simple lace pattern rows that repeat, any of these items would be suitable for even a beginning lace knitter to make.
The scarf is reversible, and a bonus is that the items in the set can be worn with
either side facing out to give equally pleasing yet different looks.
Fingering or laceweight yarn, 6 stitches/inch, size US 4 - 5 / 3.5 - 3.75 mm needles suggested. Shown in Windy Valley Musk Ox, Qiviut 2/14 color Arctic Moss. Written stitch instructions.
- Scarf: 10" by 54", 500 yards.
- Headband: M[L] 3¾" wide, 18 ½[20]" circumference, 75[80] yards.
- Mitts or Muffatees: M[L] 8 ¼" long, 8[9 ¾]" circumference at widest part, 130[150] yards.
