"I just read the Color mini-tutorial and although I have taken several color classes at conferences, you added new ways of looking at color mixtures. My mantra is "Color is Everything" so I am thrilled to think about it in more ways now."

Elegantly Simple Baby Blanket
A charity knitting pattern compliments of HeartStrings and Jackie E-S
|
With so much movement and design interest to this pattern stitch, its complex-looking structure is much easier to do than it looks. The pattern stitch is derived from the feather and fan family of Shetland lace patterns.
This blanket is self-edged, so when it's done, it's done. The beginning and ending borders are gracefully scalloped, and the side borders also have dainty small scallops.
The instructions are for a square baby blanket in medium weight yarn. However, this pattern adapts easily to other uses, sizes, and yarn weights. Just adjust needles and yarn amounts accordingly.

Elegantly Simple Baby Blanket is a free online pattern valued at $6.00. This pattern is for charity knitting purposes. If you use this pattern, please honor the spirit of purpose for this pattern by gifting your favorite children's charity. If you'd like suggestions, here are two of the many worthwhile charities I personally contribute to:
Project Linus and
Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) Layette Program.
Note: This pattern is set up for printing 2-sided on standard 8.5 x 11" letter-sized paper and folding in half as a leaflet, making it a small handy format for your knitting project bag.
Thank you for the pattern — I'd like to donate something!

Like the Elegantly Simple Baby Blanket? I invite you to check out other patterns like this in the Jackie E-S Design Collections available for sale. For example,
-
Elegantly Simple Triangle Shawl takes the stitch pattern in the Elegantly Simple Baby Blanket pattern and beautifully adapts it to a fluid shawl with triangular shaping.
- And do consider also the Warm Hearts Comfortghan, a baby blanket or lap afghan in a completely different non-lace stitch pattern, so it is suitable for both boy and girl babies (and of course, grown-ups, too!)
