Instructions for Selective-Digital Sales Affiliate Program Links

As an approved HeartStrings e-Patterns Sales Affiliate in the Selective-Digital Sales Affiliate Program, you use Payloadz/PayPal shopping cart links to sell pdf downloads of HeartStrings e-Patterns to online knitters. This page provides examples of the link code and how you might integrate it into your website or email promotions.

For each available e-Pattern you want to sell, you create an affiliate link which you can place in emails, or combine them with images or text to create your own purchase buttons and purchase links for your web site.

The affiliate link you create for selling HeartStrings e-Patterns contains your affiliate id (so that you get credit for the sales), the product id (so the customer can download the pattern from PayLoadz as soon as they have completed payment to PayPal), and the HeartStrings merchant id (so that I pay the PayLoadz and PayPal fees associated with the sales).

To set up your custom affiliate links for the e-Patterns you want to sell, you need only change 2 things in the example links provided below. For the following examples, the affiliate id, product id, and merchant id have been set as follows:

aff_id=8416

Change this number to your own affiliate id. When setting up your own links, you substitute the affiliate id number I have assigned you. If you need me to look up your affiliate id and send to you again, let me know.
id=352339

Change this number to the e-Pattern you want to sell. In this example, 352339 is the product id for the Peggy's Shawl e-Pattern. For a listing of the product id's of all currently available HeartStrings e-patterns in the Selective-Digital Sales Affiliate Program, click here.
merch_id=25831

Do not change this number. This is the PayLoadz merchant id number for HeartStrings Knitting Patterns.

Example 1

Here is an example of the link code used with a "buy now" button image:

The result looks like this:

Note: Instead of "http://www.heartstringsfiberarts.com/buyegoods.jpg", of course you'd probably want to substitute your own graphic button image.

The "target=" field in the link code is important. When the link is clicked, the shopping cart will be placed in a different window than your website, thus allowing your customer to continue shopping from your website.

Example 2

Here is an example of a text link that could be pasted into a html email promotion or onto a web page:

Note: Instead of the words "Buy Peggy's Shawl pdf pattern", of course substitute whatever appropriate words you want.

Example 3

Here is an example of the link code ready to be pasted into a text email promotion:
http://payloadz.com/go?aff_id=8416&id=352339&merch_id=25831

The webpage that this link goes to is a special catalog page that gives the complete description of the pattern and buy links for your customer. When your customer buys the download version of a pattern from one of these special catalog pages, the system remembers your affiliate id so that you get credit for the sale. In this way, you don't even really need to have a website to take advantage of this e-Patterns Sales Affiliate program.
