My Beading Heart Scarf

HeartStrings knitting pattern #H47 Pin It

This lightweight, sparkly fashion scarf is a double treat for lovers of lace and beaded knitting. The design features laceweight yarn in closely-toned hues that is doubled to achieve added richness and depth, not to mention the bonus of quicker knitting.

My Beading Heart Scarf
Shown in Helen's Lace from Lorna's Laces color #27 Black Purl and Miyuki size 8/0 glass seed beads color #264 Lined Magenta AB.

Another double feature is the beading at each end of the scarf in different, yet coordinated designs to double your pleasure in the knitting and stylish wearing.

The area between the pointed ends of the scarf transitions into a simpler bias lace with beads along the edges only, thus minimizing bulk and allowing the scarf to nicely pleat when wrapped about the neck.

Allow 400 yards of lace weight yarn for 5" x 56" scarf. 6 stitches/inch over beaded lace pattern stitch with yarn doubled, size US 7 / 4.5 mm needles suggested. 25 g size 8/0 seed beads. Charted and written stitch instructions included in pattern.

My Beading Heart Scarf

Here's another example of My Beading Heart Scarf, this time made in a combination of two closely-toned solid colors of Jaggerspun Zephyr wool/silk for subtle yet interesting color play that cannot be achieved by a single solid color alone. The yarn colors are Plum and Mulberry. The beads are Miyuki #2440 Transparent Gray Iris beads.
