Pretty Awesome Yarn Pouch

Hi there {!name_fix} -

Nancy gave a great lead-in to this month's project because we are going circular! This time with a classy yarn pouch to protect, dress-up and help keep your center-pull yarn balls tangle-free. go in circles. Even your fussiest balls will love being tamed with Pretty Awesome Yarn Pouch.

This month's project brings together lace and beads, and introduces the crochet hook method of bead placement. Iif you don't want to do beads, that's ok. I hope you will still knit along as there will be lace tips and techniques I will be talking about this month, too.

If you haven't been to the Free Membership Pattern area yet, go there now to see more pictures and to get the pattern.

I also wanted to give you a heads up to be watching for new articles "Sizing Up Crochet Hooks" and "Going Around with Lace" to be posted on the KnitHeartStrings site in a day or so.

When you are at the KnitHeartStrings site, you might also notice there are a couple of minor changes in the layout. The most significant is that there is now a Premium Membership Level Upgrade available for those who'd like to get even more with their membership. Check it out. But don't be worried if this is not for you now -- the Free Membership Level is still available.

Can you believe over 3000 members? Yep, it's keeping me busy. those wishing to make a similar hat circularly, you'll need to re-work the pattern stitch from flat to round. Knitting the Preemie Hat Circularly :: Converting rows to rounds helps get you started.

You can quite easily adapt the preemie hat pattern for full term newborns and older babies by either using thicker yarn or adding stitch pattern repeats:

* Making the Hat Larger by Using Thicker Yarn

* Changing the Number of Stitches
(also includes guidance for making the preemie size in thicker yarn)

Remember that the Seemingly Seamless 2-Needle Preemie Hat pattern will be available in the Free Member Pattern Area only through February 28; that's just 2 days away!

We had a great time last month with the Preemie Hat. I hope you have fun and learn bunches this month, too, I hope you will find it so charming that you will want to make at least one! I can't wait to show it to you.

Happy knitting, Jackie E-S
