HeartStrings hosts an on-line manufacturer's catalog with Shopatron and is happy to send its online orders to YOU!

At the heart of the Shopatron system is FirePoppy's patented Confident Order Exchange (COEX). The building block of COEX is the Physibid. A PhysiBid means that retailers only bid on orders with physical inventory, not with price. Retailers place PhysiBids on orders, which are then assigned by the Shopatron system based on inventory and geographical proximity to the consumer.

Here is typical scenario:

1. The HeartStrings FiberArts web site makes it convenient for the knitter to order on-line using the HeartStrings Shopatron-enabled catalog.
2. You as a Shopatron retailer member can view the knitter's order along with others placed during the day, and Physibid on orders (or even partial orders) you can fill from patterns you have in stock.
3. Once a day at 10:30 Pacific Time Zone, the Shopatron system resolves all orders and assigns them in an equitable manner to retailers who have indicated they have the patterns in stock. For example, if there are 2 retailers who can fill the order, the retailer closest to the customer is assigned the order to fill and ship, thus keeping business as local as possible. You make another sale and gain a new customer!
4. Shopatron handles the payment collection from the customer and provides you a packing slip to print that has already been filled in with the customer's order information.
5. All you need to do is put the packing slip together with the patterns (you can also include your own store literature, catalogs, or whatever), mail with delivery confirmation or equivalent service that has a tracking number, and enter the tracking number into the Shopatron system as your proof of having shipped the order.
6. The Shopatron system notifies the customer that the order is on its way.
7. Twice a month, Shopatron sends you what you are due for orders filled less a small processing fee.

Joining Shopatron is free. You never pay anything unless you fulfill an order, and then that is only a small transaction fee that is deducted from the total amount of the order (e.g. includes taking care of the credit card processing). I have also built into the customer's order, a shipping and handling allowance you will receive on every order so that you effectively are reimbursed for shipping to the customer.

Even if you choose not to participate in order fulfillment at this time, you can still view reports of which HeartStrings patterns are selling best, thus helping with your own stocking decisions and perhaps even discovering good-selling patterns that you'd previously overlooked.
