Shelda writes ... I used Crystal Palace Bamboo DPs size 0 (2mm) for the ribbing, and size 1.5 (2.5mm) for the rest of the sock. I'm not a big fan of the heel shown in the pattern, so I modified the pattern for a slip-stitch heel flap and round heel. The slip stitch pattern on the instep pulled in enough that it was not really "half" of the sock circumference, so I decreased a few extra stitches on the gusset to compensate and to snug the foot up a bit. I used Dawn Brocco's "6 point rounded star toe" to finish off. I can never leave a pattern alone, as you can see, but I certainly enjoyed the inspiration this one provided! I knit these for a friend with slender legs, but I'm planning to make a pair for myself starting with more stitches.
