"I just read the Color mini-tutorial and although I have taken several color classes at conferences, you added new ways of looking at color mixtures. My mantra is "Color is Everything" so I am thrilled to think about it in more ways now."

Pendants Faroese Shawl
HeartStrings knitting pattern #A4
As in other Faroese shawls in the HeartStrings pattern line, this shawl is contoured and shaped for a natural, excellent drape and fit. The pattern features garter stitch knitted lace of assorted jewel-like shaped lace motifs, yarn over increases and some of the yarn overs in the lace motifs are used to shape the panels and pretty lace shoulders.

The pattern begins with the center back neckband, then proceeds from the neck down in garter stitch and lace stitch motifs. Yarn over increases and the lace patterns themselves are used to shape the traditional center back panel, side panels, front bands, and fitted shoulders. Since this garment knits up easily into a practical and lovely creation without the need for close attention to size and fit, you may find it ideal for gift giving (or even yourself!)
33" long and 46" across at widest point as worn. 1200 yards fingering/jumper weight yarn, 4 stitches/inch, size US 8 / 5.0 mm needles suggested. Knitting starts with just a few stitches at the top and works downward. Adjusts smaller or larger with change in yarn and corresponding change in needle size and yardage. Shown in MacAusland Shetland jumper weight yarn (equivalent to fingering weight yarn). Charted instructions.
