Autumnal Equinox and Other Fall Favorites
The autumnal equinox (Sept. 23, 2006, 12:03 A.M. EDT) is one of two times a year when the sun crosses the equator, and the day and night are of equal length.
This marks the beginning of autumn in the Northern Hemisphere.
