Lace Sock Patterns
Knitting patterns for lace socks using tracitional cuff-down techniques
This portion of the Jackie E-S Sock Design Collections is devoted to knitting lace socks using traditional cuff-down techniques. To keep the Sock Collections web catalog of reasonable length and load time for you, this web page includes only those designs using lace-type pattern stitches (i.e. yarn overs). I welcome you to also take a look at the Knitted Socks section for more traditional cuff-down patterns.
Retailers selling these and other HeartStrings patterns are listed in the Store Locator. For your convenience, you may also on-line and a retail store that has the patterns you want will ship directly to you.

Concertina Lace Socks
Pattern #S17.
I designed this lace to give the illusion of dimensionality, rather like the bellows on a concertina. This small accordian-like instrument mesmerizes everyone with its happy music and wavelike rhythm as the bellows are pushed in and pulled out.

Country Girl Lace Socks
Pattern #A38.
Dainty and dignified lace-patterned socks for the country girl at heart. Socks are slightly shaped below calf for a trim fit at ankle. Notch-edged bias lace panel ribbing at cuff transitions into an arrow-head lace pattern, that narrows toward the ankle and continues into the instep. The arrow-head lace then changes into subtle ribbing along top of foot.

Errant Ankles Lace Socks
Pattern #A67.
A simple lace pattern makes into a zig zag ribbed sock with a slight scalloped edge. Choice of plain or banded heel flap where the pattern extends downward on each side of a modified square heel. Instep transitions from the lace pattern into a 5,1 rib and ends with a swirl decrease toe.

Eyelet Ankle-Ribbed Socks
Pattern #A3.
These socks are ribbed at the ankle (instead of the top!) and comfortably support an eyelet-patterned cuff with a pretty scalloped edge. Another petite eyelet pattern decorates the foot.

Heart Socks
Pattern #A36.
Pamper someone (even yourself!); pretty socks with dainty lace hearts pattern.

Luxury Lace Socks
Pattern #S09.
These fine gauge socks in exotic laceweight yarns are an extra special treat for your feet. Designed with a simple small-multiple lace motif set within ribbed columns to be pleasantly interesting, yet straight forward enough in case this might be your first adventure on tiny needles.

Parting Ways Socks
Pattern #A18.
A dressy pair of socks, with swirling eyelet rib pattern. The ribbing pattern parts ways at the juncture of heel and instep with a column of the pattern extending downward on each side of a modified square heel while the top of the foot continues in the ribbing pattern.

Peek-a-Boo Flowery Lace Anklets
Pattern #A82.
The colors of your favorite flower garden peek through the eyelets of turned-down cuffs knitted in lace flower motifs.

|
Simple Angles Socks
Pattern #A44.
Classic great fitting ribbed socks with distinctive styling. Easy-to-knit left and right-angled eyelet bands embellish ribbing on legs.

|
Summer Lace Anklets
Pattern #A85.
Lace-edged split cuff socks are designed for cotton and cotton-blend yarns, thus making them nice for summertime and those who prefer cotton. If you prefer to knit with wool, that is fine, too!

|
Swag Lace Socks
Pattern #A53.
Pleated triangular eyelet bands of stockinette alternating with reverse stockinette give dramatic shape and texture to these socks. The cuffs can be pushed down on the leg to wear like sophisticated slouch socks. Or wear pulled up and show off the pretty lace cable along each side of the leg.

|
Swirling Lace Anklets
Pattern #A34.
Swirling Lace Anklets are low-top socks in an intriguing lace pattern that curls this way and that way down the cuff and along the top of the foot. Since the cuff is very short, these anklets can be made successfully with inelastic fibers like silk and cotton without fear of sagging.
