How to Shop
What is a Shopping Cart?
The HeartStrings Shopping Cart system is a way to order patterns on-line from my a web site. The "cart" remembers the patterns you have chosen, and makes your online shopping experience similar to shopping in a store.

more traditional means, pleae feel free to phone, fax or email your order to me. See contact info below.
Is this Secure?
The payment form where you enter your credit card information is on a secure, encrypted server. The rest of the site is not on the secure server however, as there is no reason for it to be. Only the sections where your credit card information is transferred is subjected to this high level of security. When
you have completed ordering and received approval on your credit card, your web browser may give you a warning message saying that you are no longer on a secure server. This is a generic message and it is nothing to worry about.

How to Shop - The Catalog Pages
The "door" to the Store is the main Wholesale Order page at the HeartStrings web site. From there, you can click on the order links to go into the various "rooms" of the store, i.e. catalog sections corresponding to the various design collections. As you browse and enjoy, you may select patterns to purchase directly from the page. You will be able to change your selections, or even cancel on-line, anytime before the final step where the credit card you enter on the Secure Payment Form is approved. If you completed an order through approval, but did not mean to, please contact me as soon as possible so I can cancel for you.
Selecting items
Use the links to maneuver around the website until you find the item(s) you are looking to purchase. If you see something you want to order, just type in your desired "Quantity" field. If you wish, you can enter a quantity into several items on the same page before hitting any "order" button. Remember to keep in mind order minimums, so that you take advantage of your full wholesale discounts.
Putting selected items into the shopping cart
Before leaving a catalog page on which you have selected any items, put those items in your shopping cart by clicking any "Order" button on the page, or click the "Checkout Now" button at the bottom of the page. This will bring you to the Subtotal Page to see what is in your basket so far.

How to Shop - The Order Subtotal Page
Changing your quantities
Once you have chosen your item(s), you are at the subtotal page. You will see all the items you have chosen and the running subtotal thus far. If you decide you want a different quantity of an item that is already listed here, you can change the number by clicking in the field and replacing the current quantity with your desired new quantity. You must click the "Update Qtys" button after doing this to register the change.
Getting additional items (Continue Shopping)
If there is more shopping you want to do, click Continue Shopping. That will bring you back to the main Wholesale Order page where you can choose other catalog sections.
Canceling your order (Cancel Order)
If you decide you do not want to purchase anything, you may click Cancel Order and this will remove all items from your shopping cart.
Ship To information
When you are have finished putting all the items in your shopping basket that you want, next fill out the information where you want your order shipped. If this is different than your billing information, you will have a chance to give that later on the Total Page. If you want some items shipped to one address and some to another, you will need to place two separate orders.
Getting a total
When you are ready to check out, you should fill out the fields for your name, address, etc. and then click the "Total Your Order" button. If you don't fill out the required fields (those with a checkmark), you will receive an error message. Use the Back button on your browser to return and fill out the required fields.

How to Shop - The Order Total Page
Sales Tax
As a registered HeartStrings dealer, we do not collect any sales tax on patterns you purchase for re-sale. You are responsible for paying any sales tax due in your state for patterns that you purchase for other than re-sale.
Shipping
Shipping is estimated as a percentage of the subtotal. I will bill or refund difference from actual. For orders less than $25 net, there is a small order fee of $2. The shipping and handling amounts are calculated for you and added into your total.
Shipping vs. Billing Address
The Bill To fields are initially populated with the corresponding information you gave in the Ship To fields on the Subtotal Page. Please change any information for the Billing Address if it is different than the address of your credit card (usually shown on any recent credit card statement). Name and addresses are used
to verify authorized use of credit cards.
You can change information in the Bill To fields just by clicking in the field and typing over what's there. If you want to change your Ship To information, click the Back button on your browser to return to the Subtotal Page.

How to Shop - The Secure Payment Form
Your credit card
Accepted credit cards are listed. Enter your credit card number (you do not need to indicate the type of credit card, as the computer will determine this from the credit card number you enter). When entering the credit card number, do not put dashes or spaces between the numbers. Enter the expiration date using the
2 digit month followed immediately by the last 2 digits of the year (no slashes or other punctuation).
When you have completed entering your credit card information, verify that the "bill to" information is the correct name and address for that card. This will avoid credit card rejests and delayed processing. Correct any information. Then press the "submit" button at the bottom of the form.
Approving your credit card
Click the "Submit Transaction" button after you have entered the correct credit card information. The secure server will validate the information you have entered, and process your credit card for approval and payment for the total amount of the order. If you are not approved, and feel that there is a problem in the system, please feel free to contact me and I can try to run your credit card through at my end.
Your receipt
Once your credit card payment is approved, you will see a receipt screen with your order confirmation. You will also receive this information over email. If for some reason you need to cancel an order after payment has been registered, contact me as quickly as you can and I will manually cancel the order at my end.

Messages and Errors
Your Shopping Cart is Empty
If you attempt to check out, but have not selected and put any items into your cart yet, you will get this message. Also, if you have change quantities on the subtotal page so as to empty your shopping cart, you will get this message. If you want to put something into your shopping cart, click "Continue
Shopping" and proceed as described in the section "How to Shop - The Catalog Pages".
Missing Information
You have entered missing or invalid information. Click the "Back" button on your browser, and correct the missing or invalid information. Fields with a checkmark are required. If you continue to have difficulties, contact me with the problem.
Credit Card Error
While processing your card there was an error. The specific error will be listed. If it says Invalid Card Number, click the Back button on your browser and double check that you entered it correctly. If you are not approved, and feel that there is a problem in the system, please feel free to contact meand I will run your credit card through at my end.
Duplicate Transaction
If you have a credit card error or receive a server transmission timeout message, and then try to process the same credit card with same or corrected information, you might get a somewhat misleading message "duplicate transaction". This does not mean that your are being charged twice. It just means that you tried to re-charge that same credit card for the same amount in too short a timeframe for the secure server to re-set. Please wait about 5 - 6 minutes, then retry again (or contact me if you continue to have trouble).
